Based in the North East. One curator. Pieces arrive one at a time, considered one at a time. Stocking decisions are slow by design — the intention is to assemble a library, not fill a shop.
Everything shown on the site has been selected because of its construction, its history, or because it's difficult to find elsewhere. Japanese houses like NORBIT and AND WANDER for their utilitarian discipline; TEN C and Stone Island for the work done on fabric itself; Engineered Garments for pattern. Other labels appear when something interesting turns up.
Pieces are sold by enquiry. Pop-up shops happen, but only for those on the list. Private 1-2-1 appointments for anyone wanting to see a piece before committing. None of this is advertised; the site is the front door.
Every piece on this site has been tried on, checked, and priced by MW personally. Provenance noted where known; measurements taken on the hanger; condition stated honestly. If a piece has a mark or a flaw, the note says so. If it doesn't, it hasn't.
The archive is the longer story. Older pieces remain on record — visible, catalogued, photographed — even after they've sold. Visible price removed, the piece stays. It becomes part of the library's record, for anyone curious about what came through.
